Here is the checklist we follow on every Airbnb clean in Glasgow, so your next guest walks into a flat that matches your photos.
Before we start
- Open windows to air the property, weather allowing
- Walk round and photograph anything damaged, broken or left behind
- Strip every bed and gather all used towels in one place
Kitchen
- Wash, dry and put away dishes, then check cupboards for anything put back dirty
- Clean the hob, worktops, splashback and sink, and polish the taps
- Wipe inside the microwave and check the fridge for food left by guests
- Empty all bins, rinse them if needed and fit fresh liners
Bathroom
- Clean and disinfect the toilet, including the base and behind the seat
- Remove limescale from the shower, screen and taps. Glasgow water is soft, so limescale builds slowly, but soap scum still needs regular attention
- Clean mirrors so they are streak free
- Put out fresh towels, a bath mat and spare toilet rolls
Bedrooms and living room
- Make every bed with fresh linen, even ones that look unused
- Dust surfaces, lamps, the TV unit and window sills
- Check under beds, sofas and cushions
- Vacuum and mop all floors, finishing at the front door
The final walk round
- Heating, lights, TV and WiFi all working
- Guest information and house rules in place
- Windows closed and the property locked
- A short report and photos sent to the host
